The Collecting Mechanic
Pirots abandons traditional paylines entirely. Instead, 4 distinct parrot characters sit on the grid and actively collect matching symbols. Each bird has a colour: red, purple, green, or blue. When symbols drop, birds move orthogonally (up, down, left, right) to grab adjacent gems matching their colour.
The red warrior parrot in armour collects red crystals. The purple bearded sage takes purples. Green captain with the gold anchor medallion claims greens. Blue sailor in the white cap hunts blue gems. Only adjacent symbols count—no diagonal collecting.
Symbol Collection Triggers Features
As birds collect symbols during a game round, a hidden counter fills. Hit the threshold and 3 random gems on the grid transform into feature symbols: white upgrade diamonds, multicolour upgrade diamonds, transform symbols (barrels/birdhouses), coins, bombs, or wild crowns. Multiple thresholds can trigger simultaneously, spawning several features at once.
Pro tip: Adjacent parrots randomly swap positions when no wins remain but a potential win is one move away. This "helpful shuffle" can create winning paths and extend rounds.
The 5-Level Crown System
Every coloured crystal starts at level 1 with no crown. Collect white upgrade symbols to boost gems by 1-3 levels (maximum level 5). Each upgrade adds a larger golden crown and multiplies the payout:
- Red level 1: 0.05x → Red level 5 with star: 3.00x (60x increase)
- Purple level 1: 0.02x → Purple level 5: 1.50x (75x increase)
- Green level 1: 0.01x → Green level 5: 1.00x (100x increase)
- Blue level 1: 0.01x → Blue level 5: 0.60x (60x increase)
Multicolour upgrade symbols upgrade ALL gem types simultaneously. If a bird's colour is already maxed at level 5, a random other gem type upgrades instead. Level 5 gems display a bright star in their centre and emit intense glow effects.
Bomb Explosions Expand the Grid
When a bird collects a skull bomb symbol, it doesn't explode immediately. The bomb waits until no more wins exist on screen, then detonates. The explosion removes all non-feature symbols in close proximity, triggering a redrop to fill empty spaces. All birds temporarily vanish during the blast and reappear at their nest positions with new placements.
Critically, each bomb explosion expands the grid by adding rows and columns. Start at 5x5, but bombs progressively grow the playing field to 6x6, 7x7, and the maximum 8x8. Larger grids mean more symbols, more collection paths, and exponentially higher win potential.
Free Drops Bonus Mode
Collect 3 golden anchor symbols in normal mode to trigger 5 free drops. Unlike most slots that reset everything, Pirots carries over your grid size, all collected symbol counts, and current gem upgrade levels into the bonus. If you enter with an 7x7 grid and level 4 purple gems, you keep them.
Collect 3 more anchors during free drops to award additional rounds. The persistence mechanic rewards strategic play in base mode—build up upgrades and grid expansion before triggering the bonus for maximum impact.
Win Cap and Betting
Minimum bet: $0.20 AUD (100 coins). Maximum bet: $100.00 AUD (100 coins). Every bet is exactly 100 coins with changing coin value. The game caps at 10,000x your bet—hit the cap and the round ends immediately, paying out your accumulated total.
