What Makes PIROTS 2 Different

🦜

Four Collecting Birds

Red, purple, yellow-green, and blue birds actively roam the grid. Each collects amber symbols matching their colour plus all feature symbols. They move intelligently, prioritising the highest-paying clusters.

💎

Seven Upgrade Levels

Amber gems start at level 1 and upgrade to a maximum of level 7. Collect upgrade arrows to boost individual colours or use the rainbow upgrade to enhance all four gem types simultaneously.

🎯

Expandable Grid

Begin with 6x6, but when birds collect the red DON'T PRESS button, a meteor crashes down, exploding symbols and expanding the grid to 7x7, then 8x8. More grid space equals more collection opportunities.

🥚

Hatching Dinosaurs

When a bird collects an egg, a dinosaur hatches at round's end, scaring all birds away. They redrop in completely new positions, unlocking fresh symbol clusters and collection routes.

🍿

Popcorn Bridges

Collect the popcorn container to fill empty grid spaces with popcorn. Birds can cross these gaps once, reaching isolated symbol groups they couldn't access before.

🏆

Free Drops Bonus

Gather three BONUS dinosaur skulls to trigger 5 free drops. Grid size, gem upgrade levels, and collection meter progress all persist throughout the bonus, building towards massive payouts.

How the Collecting Birds Mechanic Works

PIROTS 2 replaces traditional spinning reels with a dynamic drop-and-collect system. Symbols cascade into a 6x6 grid, and four bird characters—each paired with a specific amber colour—scan for adjacent matches.

Birds move orthogonally (up, down, left, right) to collect symbols. Movement order depends on current gem value: the bird whose colour has the highest payout level moves first, creating strategic collection sequences.

When a bird collects symbols, they're removed from the grid and new ones drop to fill gaps. If more collectable symbols appear, birds continue moving until no adjacent targets remain. A single drop can trigger multiple bird movements and cascading wins.

  • Red bird collects red amber gems and all feature symbols
  • Purple bird collects purple gems and features
  • Yellow-green bird collects green gems and features
  • Blue bird collects blue gems and features

Wild symbols substitute for any amber at its current payout level. Coin symbols pay instant prizes multiplied by your bet when collected. The MAX WIN coin immediately awards the remaining amount needed to hit the £1 million cap.

Symbol Collection Metre and Feature Releases

Above the grid sits a golden progress bar tracking every amber and wild symbol collected during a round. When the metre fills, you earn a "feature symbol release" stored as a golden dinosaur skull icon. Up to three releases stack simultaneously.

Feature releases trigger just before major events: meteor strikes, egg hatches, the first free drop, or when birds finish collecting. Each release transforms three random amber symbols into feature symbols—eggs, popcorn, mushrooms, upgrade arrows, coins, or BONUS skulls.

This mechanic ensures sustained gameplay: even rounds without immediate big wins contribute to building stacked releases that can dramatically shift the grid in your favour.

The DON'T PRESS Red Button Feature

The large red button with "DON'T PRESS" stamped across it is the grid-expansion trigger. When a bird collects it, a meteor strike sequence activates at round's end.

The meteor removes birds from the grid and explodes surrounding symbols (except features). Empty spaces refill with fresh symbols, and critically, the grid expands by one row and one column—from 6x6 to 7x7, then 7x7 to 8x8 on a second trigger. Maximum grid size is 8x8.

Larger grids mean more simultaneous symbol clusters, more bird movement potential, and significantly higher win capacity. The expansion persists into the free drops bonus if triggered.

Transform Mushrooms and Switcheroo Strategy

The red-and-white spotted mushroom is a transform symbol. When collected, it converts a cluster of adjacent amber symbols into the same colour as the collecting bird. Some transformed symbols may instead become random features.

This allows colour consolidation: if your purple gems are at level 7 but others are low, use the purple bird to collect a mushroom near mixed-colour clusters, potentially converting them all to high-value purple ambers.

Birds can also perform a "Switcheroo"—swapping positions horizontally or vertically when stuck—if the swap unlocks new collectable clusters. This prevents deadlocked rounds and keeps action flowing.

If three or more birds end up adjacent in a line, they start a fight. A cartoon dust cloud sweeps across the grid, automatically collecting coins, eggs, and BONUS symbols along its path while removing ambers. Birds redrop after the brawl.

Free Drops Bonus Game Mechanics

Collect three yellow dinosaur skull BONUS symbols during a round to trigger 5 free drops. The bonus starts with your current grid size (6x6, 7x7, or 8x8), your existing gem upgrade levels, and your collection metre progress—nothing resets.

Any stacked feature releases activate immediately on the first drop, potentially flooding the grid with eggs, coins, and upgrade arrows before the free drops even begin properly.

During free drops, you can still collect additional BONUS symbols. While they don't award extra drops, they contribute to metre progress and can be part of winning collections.

The persistence mechanic is crucial: entering free drops with level 6 or 7 gems on an 8x8 grid creates explosive win potential, as every collection scores at maximum payout rates across maximum grid space.
