How Pirots X Works
Cluster Pays System
Pirots X by ELK Studios abandons traditional paylines in favour of cluster pays. You need 5 or more identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically to create a winning cluster. The beauty of this mechanic lies in the big symbols: a 2×2 owl counts as 4 symbols toward your cluster, whilst a 3×3 mega symbol counts as 9, and a colossal 4×4 epic symbol contributes 16 positions.
When you land a win, those symbols explode from the grid. Remaining symbols drop downward, new ones cascade from above, and the process repeats as long as new clusters form. Each winning cluster spawns a wild symbol in one of the empty spaces left behind, building your win potential with every cascade.
Global Multiplier That Actually Builds
The wooden sign hanging above the four Pirots displays your global multiplier, starting at x1. When a nest symbol lands anywhere on the grid, a random Pirot flies down to perch on it. After win evaluation, that bird collects all same-colour symbols from the grid: low-value gems add +1 to the multiplier, high-value owls add +2.
In the base game, the multiplier resets each spin. But trigger the bonus game with 3 golden anchors, and the multiplier becomes persistent across all 5 free drops. The wooden sign glows with an orange-golden aura when the multiplier climbs above x1, and reaching x35 or higher transforms modest clusters into massive payouts approaching the 10,000x cap.
Symbol Values & Cluster Payouts
The four high-value owl symbols wear the same headgear as their Pirot counterparts. The red owl in a viking helmet pays 50 coins for a 16+ cluster on a £0.20 bet. Purple, green, and blue owls descend in value, with the blue owl paying 15 coins at maximum cluster size.
Low-value gems mirror the colour scheme. The red gem tops out at 10 coins for 16+ symbols, down to the blue gem's 4 coins. These values multiply dramatically: a 16-symbol red owl cluster with x35 global multiplier and a x5 multiplier wild connected would pay 50 × 5 × 35 = 8,750 coins on a single cluster, or £17.50 on a £0.20 stake.
X-iter Feature Buy Options
ELK Studios' X-iter system offers five purchase options for players who prefer guaranteed features over base game variance:
- Bonus Hunt (3x bet) - One drop with more than triple the chance to trigger the bonus game naturally
- Big Symbol (5x bet) - Guaranteed big symbol on a 6×6 grid for one drop
- Feature Release (25x bet) - Maximum 7×7 grid with feature release dropping 3-5 feature symbols; if bonus triggers, it becomes super bonus automatically
- Bonus (100x bet) - Direct entry to bonus game with 5 free drops
- Super Bonus (500x bet) - Maximum grid size for all free drops with guaranteed feature release in every single drop
